At ESL, we are dedicated to advancing the frontiers of energy storage technology through innovative research and development in lithium-ion batteries, silicon anodes, solid-state electrolytes, supercapacitors, and nanostructured materials. Energy storage laboratory (ESL) has begun its work on Li-ion batteries in 2013. As a joint lab between the University of Tehran and Crouse Company, we have a special focus on the fabrication of lithium-ion batteries for automotive applications. Our mission is to bridge the gap between cutting-edge battery research and the industry by fostering collaboration with manufacturers. Main research topics in ESL include:
• Working on Fabrication Technology of Commercial Lithium ion Batteries (NMC and LFP cathodes, Graphite and Graphite/Silicon anodes), and their Improvement through state of the art solutions.
• Researching on Modern solutions to enhance the battery performance in near future (Silicon anodes, Sulfur Cathodes, Solid State Electrolytes,..).
• Collaboration between Li ion battery specialists in academic parts and also industrial sections
• Services for fabrication of electrodes, batteries, and testing.
• Improving the technological achievements in LIBs with serious collaboration between university and industry.
We aim to enhance the performance, safety, and sustainability of energy storage systems, driving the transition to cleaner energy solutions. By leveraging our expertise in physics of materials and engineering, we strive to develop next-generation battery technologies that meet the evolving demands of various applications, from electric vehicles to renewable energy storage. Together with our sponsors, we are committed to creating a more efficient and sustainable future, where advanced energy storage solutions empower innovation and contribute to a greener planet.
